In the past year, the team of the International Institute of Socionics (MIS), in addition to scientific and consulting work, carried out a lot of work on the further integration of scientific publications on socionics into the global scientific information space. Articles in MIS journals have been referenced since 1995, since the release of the first issue of the journal “Socionics, psychology and personality psychology“, but not all information about journal publications on socionics was available to researchers using abstract databases. In 2016, all scientific and practical journals of the International Institute of Socionics were included in a number of scientometric databases, including the Science Index (RINC), integrated with the library of scientific publications elibrary. The number of references to publications on socionics in the Scientific Electronic Library has exceeded 3500. A similar number of references are in Google Scholar database(Google Scholar). Available in English more than 1500 links, (if we subtract German works on related “socionics”). A significant part of the work on posting information has already been done, but is still ongoing. Let me remind you that the scientific status of any discipline and scientists in the modern world is determined not by “who said or thought what”, but by the number of scientific references, scientific citation indices, and whether this discipline is studied at universities. Today, socionics is studied at more than 180 state universities in the CIS and Eastern Europe in the context of a wide variety of applied and humanitarian sciences – from management and computer science to philology and philosophy. By 2012, about 900 dissertations in all sections of the humanities and some technical sciences, in which socionics methods were used. (Now, of course, there are significantly more of them, but there is no accessible service for analysis – DisserCat has not been updated for four years). Creation and filling of the site with information MIS Publishing Center on the Open Journal System platform made all publications from MIS journals “visible” to the Google Academy search engine. This makes articles more accessible to readers. Google Academy offers a tool for scientometric analysis, which is officially used by scientific and educational institutions of Ukraine. The author’s profile shows which works and in what quantity are cited, what the “Hirsch Index” (h-index) is. Most scientific institutes and universities are currently creating such profiles. Hirsch Index of Kyiv School of Socionics equals 23. This is a worthy place among scientific organizations and universities of Ukraine. However, the index is incomplete and may increase significantly after loading all the links into the databases. And here are the individual scientometric indices of a number of socionics:
- Aušra Augustinavichute,
- Aleksandr Bukalov
- Victor Gulenko
- Vladimir Davidovich Ermak
- Olga Karpenko
- Valentina Vasilevna Meged
- Anatoly Alexandrovich Ovcharov
- Grigory Alexandrovich Shulman
- Igor Litvinenko
Not all specialists are involved yet, the work continues. The traditional (already 32nd) International Conference on Socionics was successfully held in Kyiv. Each conference expands our understanding and provides new knowledge. And those who were unable to attend it regretted it. And if a person misses conferences, he, unfortunately, begins to lag behind as a specialist. And communication on social networks cannot replace this. A number of our colleagues took part in person and in absentia in September Sochi Conference on Psychology, at which a number of reports were presented, which were published in conference proceedings. Thus, despite all the difficulties, socionics is developing and covering new areas of the humanities as a tool. Therefore, the issue of the transition of the socionic community to a qualitatively new level of development and consolidation has become urgent. Happy New Year to everyone! I wish you happiness, health, success and good luck!
